Britain's synchro duet have finished their free routine preliminary in 11th place.
The British duo of Kate Shortman and Izzy Thorpe scored 80.9667 in the Duet Free Routine, just short of the score they achieved in the European Juniors in Helsinki last month. This is enough to secure the teenagers a place in the final on Tuesday.
The move from junior to senior level has seen the pair have to incorporate new elements to their dance over the matter of a few weeks, and is more impressive given that Shortman has also been completing her GCSEs this summer and Thorpe has had to recover from a stress fractured rib at the start of the season.
The pair will join the rest of the squad for the Team Free Routine Final this afternoon.
