Coaches nominated for UK Coaching award

Four aquatics coaches have been shortlisted for the Sports Coach UK Coaching Awards 2016 in recognition of their work through 2016.

British Para-Swimming Head Coach Rob Greenwood and Ards Head Coach Nelson Lindsay have been shortlisted in the High Performance Coach of the Year category. Greenwood led the British team to 47 medals at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and Lindsay coached Bethany Firth to her successful medal haul in Rio.

Jen Leeming has been shortlisted in the Performance Development Coach of the Year category after coaching Grace Reid to a successful 2016. Reid reached the final of the 3m Springboard at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games – the female to do so since 1972.

In the Lifetime Achievement Award Eddie McCluskey has been nominated for his lifelong dedication to Para-Swimming. In his career he coached Kenny Cairns and Margaret  McEleny to success at the Paralympics and coaches at the Port Glasgow Otters.
