Aquatics GB are delighted to confirm an agreement with our valued partners Speedo that will see them become event name partners for this week's Speedo Aquatics GB Swimming Championships and the upcoming Speedo Aquatics GB Diving Championships.
Hundreds of swimmers are ready to dive into action at the London Aquatics Centre, with tomorrow's multi-classification Women's 50m Butterfly kicking off six days of packed competition at the inaugural Speedo Aquatics GB Swimming Championships, which are serving as the key selection meet for our Olympic and Paralympic teams heading to Paris in the summer.
With live broadcast coverage across both BBC Sport and Channel 4, and the stands nearly sold out across every single session, this event title agreement between Aquatics GB and Speedo will help take this week's unique sporting spectacle to another level, as it will when our divers look to make their mark later in the year.
And for Aquatics GB CEO Drew Barrand, it is just another reason to get excited about what lies ahead for athletes and fans of aquatics sport
"We are so happy to be able to announce that Speedo have come on board as event name partners for our two most important competitions of this Olympic and Paralympic cycle - and to be able to do it on the eve of what is set to be a special week of racing in London feels just right," he said.
"When we launched our new name and brand identity at this very venue last week, I spoke about our desire to drive the organisation forward commercially, as well as competitively and societally. This agreement, in addition to our valued ongoing partnership with Speedo, shows the desire across the board to take aquatics sports on and ensure events like the Speedo Aquatics GB Swimming and Diving Championships are true spectacles, befitting of those competing in the pool and demonstrating the years of dedication and graft that has got them to this stage.
"The London Aquatics Centre looks great, decked out in the new brand colours and with our joint event logo across the venue. Now it's time to bring on the racing."
Simon Rowe, Vice President of Global Sports Marketing at Pentland Brands Ltd - which includes Speedo - added: "Speedo are thrilled to be title naming partners of these two iconic and prestigious championships. Becoming naming partners further cements our long term commitment to Aquatics GB and the wider Home Nations. London Aquatics Centre provides an excellent backdrop to inspire and engage current and future generations to participate and try aquatics sports."
