Following Great Britain’s impressive medal table-topping meet at the European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships at the start of July, a team of 14 young athletes have been selected to compete at the curtain call event of the 2025 long course season.

Located near the Romanian capital Bucharest, the six-day competition will take place between 19th and 24th August 2025 at the Aquatics Complex in Otopeni - a facility purpose-built for hosting world-class international swimming events with a 2,400-seating capacity. The venue was opened for the European Junior Swimming Championships in 2022 and has also hosted the European Short Course Swimming Championships in 2023.

All five of Britain’s individual European junior gold medallists from Samorin are selected to the world junior team, as Amelie Blocksidge, Dean Fearn, Blythe Kinsman, Filip Nowacki and Amalie Smith aim to progress their performances further against top young talent from across the globe.

Edith Price and Theodora Taylor additionally achieved individual podium moments at the continental junior competition, while Skye Carter, Rio Daodu, Harry Milne, Daniel Ransom and Gabriel Shepherd each contributed to relay medal success to complete the twelve swimmers who will compete for Great Britain across both meets.

The 14-strong team will be Britain’s first to attend a World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships since the 2019 edition in Budapest, where the team returned with four medals – one silver and three bronze.

Details of live streaming and results links still to be announced, with all latest event details published on the World Aquatics website.
