William Ellard, Iona Winnifrith and Mark Tompsett clinched gold in Barcelona as the Para Swimming World Series - on it's third stop of the 2025 calendar - made a debut appearance in the Spanish city.

A group of eight British athletes contested events across the four days of competition in the Catalonian capital, with Paralympic Champion Will Ellard stepping onto the very first podium of the meet to begin his four-medal haul as he claimed silver in the Men's 100m Freestyle.

A pair of multi-classification golds in the 200m Freestyle and 400m Freestyle came either side of a further silver in the 100m Butterfly, solidifying a strong opening appearance on the World series in 2025 for the S14 swimmer who took second overall in the 2024 Overall Men's rankings.

Iona Winnifrith won an eye-catching victory in the Women's 100m Breaststroke as she builds upon a breakout 12 months that saw her win SB7 Paralympic silver and the European title in the event. Here, multi-classification World Series gold in that contest was added to by a 200m Individual Medley bronze.

Britain's other senior World Series gold of the meet was won by Mark Tompsett, who again impressed in the 100m Backstroke event in which he lowered the Men's British S14 record last year on route to clinching Paralympic bronze in Paris.

Harry Stewart claimed Aquatic GB's final senior medal with a promising in-season 100m Breaststroke swim for Men's multi-classification silver, while Jude Gunner, Jason Van Der Merwe and Brooklyn Hale all secured medals in youth finals as they gained experience on the international stage.

On top of an impressive medal return, the Aquatics GB cohort will have benefited from some intense in-season racing in an international environment featuring athletes from 37 nations, as they ultimately continue their preparations for next month's Aquatics GB Swimming Championships at the London Aquatics Centre.
